Ground Handling Compliance and Operational Consulting

Ground handling brings people, equipment and aircraft together under time pressure. A workable compliance program needs to reflect that environment. MMM Consultations, LLC supports ground handling organizations with operational procedures, training, safety management and audit readiness across ramp, passenger service and cargo functions.

Who this service is for

This support is intended for ground handling managers, airport station leaders and aviation service providers responsible for consistent performance. A station may be preparing for a customer audit, integrating new work, responding to an incident or reviewing why the same finding keeps returning. A multi-station organization may need better consistency while still recognizing local operating differences.

The initial discussion identifies the services performed, the operating environment and the customer expectations involved. A focused ramp procedure review has a different scope from a broader ground handling gap assessment. We agree on the priority processes and the evidence needed to understand them.

Understand where procedures break down

Problems often appear at handoffs: when responsibility moves between teams, equipment changes hands or a task is completed under an exception to the normal plan. Written procedures may be technically complete while employees rely on informal workarounds. Training records may show completion without making it clear how competence was checked for the assigned task.

We look at how the operation communicates instructions, identifies concerns and verifies important steps. The objective is to understand the process behind a finding rather than simply adding another reminder to be careful. A useful improvement should be understandable to the people expected to carry it out.

What we can help deliver

An agreed engagement can include a ground handling gap assessment, procedure revisions, GSE safety process review, training documentation and an action plan for audit findings. Work can address ramp, passenger and cargo operations according to the scope of the organization’s services. We also support alignment with relevant IATA AHM and IGOM standards and preparation related to ISAGO expectations.

Alignment support is not a promise of certification or an audit result. The review should identify which requirements or standards are being used, what evidence was examined and what remains to be addressed. Clear references and defined responsibilities make the result easier for management to maintain.

Connect safety, training and supervision

A revised operating procedure should flow into the training that supports it. Supervisors need to understand what has changed, how to reinforce the change and when an issue needs escalation. Employees need a practical way to raise concerns when the documented process does not fit the conditions they encounter.

We help connect these activities so a corrective action does not end with a revised page. Follow-up can examine whether the change reached the affected personnel, whether supporting records are available and whether the original problem has recurred. This creates a more useful connection between safety management and station performance.

Plan a focused operational review

Before starting, identify the work groups involved, the procedures that cause concern and any upcoming customer or regulatory review. Useful starting information includes the service scope, organizational responsibilities and a summary of recent findings. Detailed operational records can be requested after the assessment boundaries and handling arrangements are agreed.
